Our Facilities

Rhondda Sports Centre is an impressive Sport and Active Leisure facility that supports the Sports & Exercise College to deliver the practical elements of our programme. The outstanding facilities support learners while developing their experiences and skills.

THE GYM

The gym at Rhondda Sports Centre has a dedicated free weights area along with a cardio and resistance training area. Following a full induction, learners have access to all areas of the gym to enable them to create, follow and develop their own training programmes. These facilities on-site are also used for learners to develop their practical exercise and fitness instruction in a controlled environment under the supervision of qualified and experienced staff.

SWIMMING POOL

Sports Academy learners also have access to the swimming pool at Rhondda Sports Centre as a part of their learning programme. Learners are given the opportunity to develop their confidence and competencies in the pool, and also engage in team water sports.

INDOOR SPORTS HALL

A large multi purpose playing area where learners will develop fundamental movement and sports skills to develop their coaching teaching and instructing skills. Learners will take part in daily team and individual indoor sports.

OUTDOOR FIELDS

Attached to the site of Rhondda Sports Centre are playing fields suitable for football, rugby, cross country and in the summer athletics and cricket.

HEALTH SUITE

The health suite a is a perfect place to relax and recover after a session. The centre has a sauna, steam room, spa bath and jacuzzi.

CAFE CITRUS

Whether you want to enjoy a hot drink and a snack while the kids enjoy a swim or an activity, or want to refuel with a refreshing cold drink and a meal after your gym, swim or class session, Cafe Citrus is a great place to be.

First Aid and Health & Safety

First aid trained staff member on site at all times
Parents responsible for their children at all times – pool ratio must be followed
All personal belongings are left in lockers or elsewhere in the leisure centre at your own risk
